Issue Position: Protecting Colorado Families and Growing Our Economy

Issue Position

Since the economic crisis of 2008, many Aurora and Colorado families have been struggling. In the past two years, I've sponsored or supported many bills to create good, high paying jobs throughout the state. We will continue to look for innovative ways to expand our economy.

One of the legislature's key roles is to approve a balanced state budget to provide services and protect citizens. The experts are predicting that Colorado will have another tough few years before our state and national economies emerge from this serious recession.

As your state representative, I pledge to continue to put first the needs of Colorado families and small businesses as we have to make difficult choices. Colorado's Constitution requires a balanced budget, so my job, if re-elected, will continue to be to set priorities. The easy cuts have already been made. You want your representative to reflect your values when these tough decisions must be made. As I have the past two years, I will continue to support education and consumer protection and measures that create jobs and provide training opportunities for those who want to enter the new energy economy.
